Welcome to my website. I am an LA English teacher who blogs, recommends Y.A. books, writes and is always searching for mentor texts.

A little bit about me. I grew up in Forest Hills, NY, home of Simon and Garfunkel, The Ramones and Ray Romano. I have been teaching English Language Arts for the past twenty-seven years in Los Angeles and have recently renewed my National Board Certification. I also have a background in writing, as I received my Masters of Fine Arts in Playwrighting, from USC

Years later I received a second masters degree in school administration, even though I’ll never cross over to the dark side. Over the years I have discovered that the only way I can get kids to love reading is to read a lot of young adult fiction and then put ones I know are good into the students’ hands. I hope to continue working on this site and offer more and more content that helps English teachers in their journey.

I am very happily married and a father to two amazing seventeen-year-old twins.
